Your little girl is going to LOVE this bubble tank! So comfy to wear and so simple to make. Let your inner artist emerge as you embellish the bodice with funky scrunchy roll-ey ruffles…not your typical ruffle treatment but you will learn a whole new way to add some life to a simple garment. This tunic length top has fun knotty ties at the shoulders and a great bubble skirt bottom. Pair this one up with some leggings, skinny jeans or the Rings of Ruffles pants and you’ve got a knock out look that will make your sweetie the cutest kiddo on the block. :)

No serger is needed! Directions are given for sewing on a regular sewing machine. This one is also fully lined so need to worry about seam finishing.

Also, in typical LILYGIGGLE fashion, I created the “Poppy Bubble Tank” Tunic out of some XL women’s t-shirts! You know how much I like to repurpose, but now all of my recycled t-shirt patterns also give layouts, yardages and instructions if you prefer to use fabric off of the bolt.

This is for the PDF pattern only, not the actual “Poppy Bubble Tank” Tunic. If you would like to purchase an actual sewn piece, click here.

Size: 12 months-7 years

Materials Needed:

  • Fabric ~ 4 large t-shirts for the tunic and several scraps for the embellishment
  • ~If buying off of the bolt (45”wide):
  • ½ yd. of fabric A (bodice)
  • ½ yd. fabric lining
  • 1 yd. of fabric B (skirt) *1¼” for sz. 7
  • 1 yd. fabric for lining *1¼” for sz. 7
  • Various scraps or remnants for ruffles and flower
  • Color coordinating thread

Special thanks goes out to Hannah Huff Photography  for her beautiful photos (last 2) and to Jaime at Maple Sugar Lane for the super fun wool felt headband in the first 3 photos!!!
